Girls basketball team prepares to battle perennial power Oregon City tonight

With less than two months remaining in the season, the Girls Varsity Basketball team (14-7, 6-1 Three Rivers League) will begin its final three games tonight against league rival Oregon City. After defeating Lake Oswego last Friday 63-42, the team will look for a win against the Pioneers. The Lions have won 14 out of their last 21 games.

“They are a great group of young ladies that have come together to represent WLHS. They have worked hard all season and have accomplished a lot this past season,” Glen Lee, coach, said. “They’ve learned to work together to accomplish their goals and they have created lifelong memories along the way.”

With their only league loss coming at the hands of Oregon City, 56-88, the Lions will have to bring their best performance of the season tonight if they hope to knock off the top-ranked Pioneers.

Tonight’s game will be at Oregon City High School tonight at 6 p.m.
