The balanced scoring attack of the visiting West Linn Lions (17-5, 7-1 Three Rivers League) overwhelmed the host Oregon City Pioneers (4-17,1-7 TRL) in a 73-58 romp for the Lions. The Lions had four players in double figures with Mitch Cokely, senior guard, leading the way with 15 points. Anthony Mathis, freshman, chipped in 14 points also for the Lions, despite leaving the game at half time with an apparent head injury. A.J. Mayo, senior,  led all scorers with 22 points for Pioneers.

On Feb. 17 the Lions will travel to Clackamas High School to take on the Cavaliers,  this will mark the second to last game of the regular season.

“I expect a great game just like the last time we played them,” Ryan Shearmire, sophomore, said. “They’re a good team.”

The Lions defeated the Cavs back on Jan. 27, 51-43, at West Linn High School.
