In a 3-2 set win over Lake Oswego, the Lions claimed the second overall spot in the Three Rivers League. They will face North Medford in the first round, Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

After a difficult league slate, the varsity girls volleyball team (20-7, 12-4 Three Rivers League) defeated Lake Oswego (16-10, 11-5 TRL) in 3-2 sets.  Claiming a  second place finish in the TRL, the Lions are now preparing for the OSAA State Playoffs.

Seeded eighth overall, the Lions will face 28th seeded North Medford (12-13, 7-7 Southwest Conference)  in the first round. If the Lions advance they will be guaranteed home court through the second round, due to West Linn earning the higher seed.

The Lions have been working hard in order to prepare themselves for a deep run in the playoffs.

“By finishing off league with a win it gives us the momentum and confidence we need going into playoffs,” remarked outside hitter Abby Fillion, sophomore, said. “We are preparing by trying to focus in practice as much as we can.”

“It’s business as usual for us,” said assistant coach Michelle Hoover. “We keep practicing and are working to move towards our ultimate goal.”

With all of these goals in mind, the Lions are ready to make a deep run in the OSAA State Playoffs. West Linn will take on North Medford Wednesday at home, at 6:00 p.m.
