The wait for Mayer fans is almost over

After almost a year and a half of repair and relaxation, John Mayer has released a sneak peek to his new album, “Born and Raised.”

The singer-songwriter was forced to stop his performances after being diagnosed with a granuloma. Granuloma, a pocket of infection, was nestled by his vocal chords which impaired his ability to sing. Mayer described this as a “temporary setback” and that the recording and mixing of “Born and Raised” was entirely finished except for a few remaining vocal tracks.

Mayer enthusiasts will find themselves clicking repeat as they listen to the 60-second clip of the song “Shadow Days.” After only six days of being publicized, the sneak peek has received over 100,000 plays. The counter continues to rise with the anticipation of the album’s release, and a chance for more concerts to come. There is no set date as to when the new album will be out, but he hopes it will be released early this year.
