Embracing the Arts

The Portland Art Museum welcomes lovers of art and history alike, with contemporary, Native American, and Asian art.

Founded in 1892, the Portland Art Museum is the oldest art museum in the Pacific Northwest, and the 7th oldest in the country. The museum was originally located in the public library, but moved to it’s own building at SW 5th and Taylor in 1905. It moved again to a new location at SW Park and Jefferson in 1932, which is where it’s currently located.
