Cody White
Aspiring Journalist Cody White,  senior, tries to focus on delivering clear concise, stories.

“It’s bothered me how journalism has declined in the eyes of the public, it seems like many people don’t trust journalists anymore, I want to try and change that,” White said.

White believes the future of journalism lies in independent creators, that work online, without restrictions. Inspired by those independent journalists across the internet, White wishes to one day create freelance or independent work online.

“There are certain YouTubers in particular who I really look up to. They work on things they feel like are important, and present this with interesting visuals,” White said.

“The tough thing about working independently though, is building an audience, and creating trust with them,” White said. “You really need to make it clear facts not just matter, but are core to your work, and when you write opinion pieces, write what you feel like needs to be added to the discussion.”

Outside of journalism, White is an avid computer user, playing PC games competitively, listening to a variety of music, and occasionally working in programs such as Photoshop.
