Abod Ali

Abod Ali, Yearbook Staff

Abod Ali, 9 laces up his neon pink and green Nike Mercurials Superflys as he prepares for battle. No not a war, something almost as important, his state championship soccer game. Ali didn't even hear the whistle blow, the adrenaline kicked in and he just kept jumping up and down. His team dominated down to the buzzer and they just won the state title.

Over the summer Ali played a ton of soccer and some of his fondest memories are of his trip to San Diego with his team. The trip was a big confidence boost for Ali, who said, “There were large gates that read ‘THROUGH THESE GATES WALK THE BEST OF THE BEST’ greatest feeling in my sports career.” After the four day tournament, his coach killed Ali and his team’s calves with sprints on the beach. Ali still doesn’t know what he wants to do for a profession but a professional soccer player would be the goal, “It's hard, you know.”

Abod likes things outside of soccer too, he enjoys school and Pixar/Disney movies. He would have to give school a rating of an 8.5/10. His favorite Disney movie is Aladdin, “I really connect with the character of Aladdin.”

Abod was intrigued to join Yearbook “I can meet more people this way and get more involved with the community.” He has 2 younger brothers who, to his dismay, are both much cuter than him. He also has one older sister who played a big role in telling him about the wonders of Yearbook. This is her second year taking it, and she holds the position of Photo Editor. “If it wasn’t for Rameen [Ali, 11] I don’t think I would have joined Yearbook.”
