Elise is the Amplifier’s premiere reporter and commentator on politics and The Decemberists. She loves shopping for music at Music Millennium in Portland. In January of 2011 she met The Decembrists front man Colin Meloy. Elise’s idol is political commentator Keith Olbermann. She dreams of becoming a political commentator on MSNBC because she wants to know who is in charge of the country and wants to be able to challenge that authority. Elise uses her “Soapbox” column to challenge authority and discuss politics in the school. Elise is interning with the Bus Project, the goal of which is to “get out the vote” in the community. Her role in the project is to map the all available ballot boxes in the state so citizens know where they can vote.
