West Linn Varsity Basketball scores victory against Tigard
The West Linn Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team (8-4) emerged victorious against the Tigard Tigers (5-5) with a 16-point win, 77-61.
The Lions led by seven after the first quarter with a score of 21-14 and continued its dominance in the first half, holding Tigard to only eight points in the second quarter. When the halftime buzzer sounded, the Lions led 34-22.
The Tigers were unable to stop West Linn as they allowed 43 second half points and could never create a rally to overtake the Lions.
Anthony Mathis, junior, led the Lions in scoring with 24 along with Ryan Shearmire, senior, and Hayden Coppedge, senior, scoring 23 and 17, respectively.
