About Us
wlhsNOW is the student-run journalism program of West Linn High School, located in West Linn, Oregon at 5464 West A St. Made up of students from all different backgrounds and grade levels, wlhsNOW combines Yearbook, Amplifier, and this news site with the shared objective of preparing students for the real world by teaching leadership, communication, and business skills. Our staffs join together to form the brand that is wlhsNOW, and our goal is to cover all stories as professionally, efficiently, and accurately as possible.
Mission Statement
We, the staff of wlhsNOW and the Amplifier, are committed to honesty, integrity, and diversity, in order to spread stories and information capable of informing students in a reliable manner. We strive to be unbiased and diverse in our coverage to support and provide a platform to unique parts of our community.
Integrity is a strong pillar of our publication; the content we release is guaranteed to be original, honest work from our student staff. We will improve our skills in business, communication, and leadership through the authentic stories we tell. We commit to combining professionalism, efficiency, and accuracy in our work and conduct.
We aim to create a supportive environment and a sense of community within our publication, while also maintaining and improving our professionalism and work ethic. We believe that this connection between reporters directly connects to our outward abilities as a publication. Additionally, embracing our differences and recognizing our similarities as a staff will help us maintain diverse coverage and bridge gaps.
We understand our responsibility as journalists, especially as students journalists, to be the voice of our community, deliver accurate information, and do so responsibly.
