Quarterback Tim Tawa is awarded Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year
Tim Tawa, sophomore, led the Lions to the longest playoff run in five years. Tawa makes history by being the first football player to win the award for West Linn. Winning this award qualifies him for the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year award, which will be announced in December. The football team had a 9-3 record this year and made it to the State quarterfinals. Tawa racked up 2,943 yards and 38 touchdowns while only throwing six interceptions. Although Tawa is a recognized for his abilities in football he recently verbally committed to Stanford to play baseball.
