The release of the new Star Wars movie trailer, “The Force Awakens,” and video game trailer, “Star Wars Battlefront 3,” has many fans excited. “Star Wars Battlefront 3” is set to release on Nov. 17 and just a month later, “The Force Awakens” will come out in theaters.

Fans of the Battlefront series haven’t seen a new game since LucasArts released “Star Wars Battlefront 2” in 2005. Many skeptics are concerned with the new companies developing the game, Dice and EA. Dice is known for the popular Battlefield series, not to be confused with Battlefront.

Historically, Dice and EA have been known to charge extra money for multiple downloadable content. Usually they release an additional five or so DLC’s along with the base game. Many people are concerned that they would deliberately hold back content, only to include it in the DLC’s for extra money.

However, Dice is in a time-crunch to finish the game before “The Force Awakens” releases to theaters Dec. 18. Also, they have planned to release the first DLC called “The Battle of Jakku” for free Dec. 8 or Dec. 1 if you preordered “Battlefront 3.”

“The Force Awakens” movie will be the seventh episode in the Star Wars series. The series started in 1977 and the last movie, “The Revenge of the Sith”, was released in 2005. It’s been about 10 years since any major Star Wars movie or Battlefront game. The new film will take place 30 years after the events in episode six: “The Return of the Jedi.”
