Despite having the bases loaded, the team was unable to score any runs. “It’s just the beginning of the season. We’re just going to be playing out best by June, [and] that’s where champions are,” Rowe said.

It was fun to play with my sister.”

All together. To finish off the concert, all choirs joined on stage to perform “Water Fountain,” a song inspired by the California drought in 2013. Several students were seated on the edge of the stage clapping and playing percussion instruments to add to the sound. The song involved shouting, singing, and clapping.

Finn Howell, Junior, is the coverage editor and is passionate about making students feel seen and recognized. He spends much of his time outside of journalism practicing music, running, and climbing. He specifically enjoys playing clarinet and saxophone with the WLHS band. Lucy Forest, senior, is the Copy Editor for wlhsNOW and the Awards Committee Chair. This is her second year in journalism and her first on the board.  This year she looks forward to writing, editing, and bettering her skills in photography. Outside of journalism, Forest is on the board of the symphonic choir and enjoys singing and reading. In the future, she hopes to use her writing skills to get a job in the publishing industry.

Olivia Wang, junior, is the Social Media Coverage Editor and Social Media Committee Chair for wlhsNOW. This will be Wang’s second year on staff. Outside of school, she writes stories for the Oregonian, volunteers at the library, and leads clubs like the Asian Pacific Islander club. Wang hopes to continue with journalism after high school.

Joseph Murphy, Web Editor-in-Chief
In addition to being the Web Editor-in-Chief, Joseph Murphy, senior, also enjoys running with the cross country team. Journalism has proved to be Murphy’s main interest due to the fun he has writing about sports and photographing sports games. In the future, Murphy hopes to be a photojournalist for a professional sports team.
