Journalism has proved to be Murphy’s main interest due to the fun he has writing about sports and photographing sports games. In the future, Murphy hopes to be a photojournalist for a professional sports team.

Preparation. Danny Wideman, sophomore, adds his strategic notes to his belt. In his first game in the outfield as a high schooler, Wideman secured two flyouts to go along with his three runs. Wideman primarily plays shortstop. “I could have made a little better reads,” Wideman said. “I’m not really an outfielder, its my first time playing outfield. [I want to make] the plays a little easier on myself, but I just wanted to get the easy outs for Gabe. He was putting on a good game, so I just wanted him to settle down on the mound and get the outs.”

Driving it over the wall in center field, Vandenbrink got the home run to go along with a double and a couple singles. “It feels really good,” Vandenbrink said. “Theres no feeling like getting that double, getting that homerun in baseball. Its really fun for me to succeed for not only my team, but for me, and for my family. Its fun just having those vibes around.”
