Before playing their games, Vialva and Buse listen to pregame music to get them pumped for the upcoming game.
Buse likes to listen to “Don't Cha Know” by Erykah Badu, which is unofficially pro-player Paul George's theme song, according to basketball fans.
Meanwhile, Vialva's playlist is wide-ranging, but he enjoys 21 Savage the most.
"I was a big Lil Baby fan,” Vialva said. “Then my brother was like ‘Yo, what’s this?’ I thought it was straight trash. I started listening to [21 Savage] more and more, it was very good. So, it stuck with me. [21 Savage] reminds me of my brother, so I’m like ‘Yeah, I like that.’”
When going head-to-head against their opponents, Vialva and Buse each have a go-to move to keep the opponent off-balance. Vialva's favorite move is a mid-range jumper, which is something he has practiced for 4-5 years.
"I really don't shoot three-pointers," Vialva said. "My dad always taught me [to not] shoot three-pointers, I didn't try shooting a three-pointer until 7th or 8th grade. We always do mid-range [shots] and layups."
For Buse, she likes going with a skipper, which is an in-and-out move, using only one of the hands to control the basketball. While also performing this move, she adds some hesitation to catch the opponent off guard.
To get the energy they need before games, Vialva and Buse have favorite pregame meals to get them energized.
Vialva likes to have Chick-Fil-A before his games, which is different from the teriyaki the team gets before away games. However, Buse differs from Vialva.
“My favorite pregame meal has to be like a good Caesar salad or butter noodles,” Buse said. “Just because it's something light, something I can get in, and just go get to the game.”
As Buse and Vialva continue to grow in the sport, they look up to professional players .
Buse likes to emulate Breanna Stewart, a WNBA player who plays for the New York Liberty.
"[I like her] just because defensively, she just gets it done on defense, and her defense translates to her offense a lot," Buse said.
Vialva's favorite NBA player is Devin Booker. His ability to create open space is something Vialva looks up to.
Basketball shoes are ever-changing based on trends, how functional they are and how comfortable they are.
Vialva’s favorite shoe is the Kobe 5’s or the Kobe 4’s because of how comfortable they are.
Meanwhile, Buse has a variety of shoes she likes. She likes the look of the Kobe 6’s, and the favorite shoe she has ever worn is the PG 5’s. However, during games, Buse wears alternating shoes, which adorn yellow and green separately. These shoes were in pro player Sabrina Ionescu’s line of shoes.
“Those [shoes] are [in the] top two,” Buse said. “Sabrina came up with her line, they’re a shoe for women. Then I looked at the colors and she made one green, one yellow [pairs of shoes]. It's her first year back so I wanted something to tie me and my sister together for the first year back so I was like, ‘Hey, do you want to mis-match with me?’”
