Adrift-Snow Daze
Snow Daze
Adrift
Original poem by Kaelin Kehm
I flew adrift
Laying in the snow-
Letting my mind
Wander through the
Depths of my
Imagination.
A sea of stars sends waves throughout
The sky-
My memories shine above a
Mountain,
To which I must paddle
Across the lake of my
Mind-
In order to reach my
Sea of memories
In the form of
Stars.
Even though I had
Arrived at the mountain-
My canoe gently rocks
Against the soft current
Of my imaginary lake, and
I am adrift.
No anchor-
To keep my canoe in
Place,
No ladder-
To climb in order
To reach the beautiful
Sea of stars that I
Continue to stare in
Awe of.
To be adrift,
Was to be lost
Inside of my
Imagination…
Knowing that
I would eventually
Find an anchor,
Find a ladder,
Escaping my
Canoe-
Escaping the lake-
Where I would
Never be able to
See my own
Reflection-
For the lake,
Only chose
To reflect the
Stars.
