Blue Christmas-Snow Daze
Snow Daze
Blue Christmas
Original poem by Kaelin Kehm
I woke up in the morning
To the snow melting and the
Sky awakening.
The stars had disappeared-
The moon now a distant
Vision in the clouded
Sky that was no longer
A clear blue,
But a mix of pale,
Orange.
I felt blue,
This Saturday at sunrise-
As the snow began
To melt away
Along with our
Snowman of
One, two, three
Tiers,
Now lost to
The blue-
Disguise of
Melting,
Along with a
Smile,
Already
Away.
Even as I watched
Our snowman
Succumbing to blue-
I knew he would return
To us again one day,
Or at least we’d
Create him-
When the wind started
To howl,
The moon glowed
Through the night, and
Snow began to
Fall, enabling
This blue Saturday
To return to the
Color of white,
Fresh, fallen
Snow.
