Future star journalist Andrew “The Boy in the Blazer” Callaghan, 12 is the backbone of West Linn High Schools broadcast team. “I enjoy broadcasting soccer the most because it is my favorite sport and I play on a club team¨ says Callaghan. Andrew has been playing soccer for 12 years he told me. Originally his parents signed him up for it, but later on he started to enjoy the sport more and more and it became one of his biggest passions. ¨As Much as I love playing on the pitch, I get just as much fun commentating over the games as i do playing in them¨ added Andrew when asked if he rather play or commentate. On top of commentating over the boys soccer games he has coined his own sideline reporting with his ¨Boy in the Blazer” persona. Since his sideline show has taken off, he told me ¨The blazer has become [his] second skin¨ and he uses any excuse he can to wear his Blazer.
