Seasonally in-tune. Depending on the season and time of year, items may appeal to upcoming holidays. In December the store features Christmas ornaments, holiday pillows and blankets, stockings, wreaths, and more festive goods. In October, the business was met with over 350 kids during the Halloween trick-or-treating event the city put on. The seasons also influence the chocolates sold in-store, determining the treat's flavors, shapes, toppings, and more.

It was fun to play with my sister.”

Running amuck: A toy doll rides a tricycle, in the center of the Carriage Way Cemetery. The toy doll was a free listing on Craigslist, among other dolls. “It was a little creepy, just a box of doll parts, but I saw the potential and took it home,” Knowles said.

Coloring traditions. Created from pine branches in Ecuador, the crayons are lightweight. Similar items come with hand-carved and painted tropical animals made of balsa wood. World of HeARTs also sells coloring books made of elephant dung that talk about the Sri Lankan elephant, appealing to younger audiences. The business is active in the community and participated in the Downtown Willamette trick-or-treating in October by handing out coloring pages kids could return with for a discount on their purchase. “It has just been a positive experience all the way around and we’re big supporters of our local community,” May said.
