Shining a light on student musicians
Before the homecoming carnival's first ever live music performance, Ethan Arterberry, junior, helps student band Love Circle practice for their later performance. Musicians arrived early at the auxiliary gym to rehearse and made sure the event would go smoothly. “I was nervous,” member of Love Circle and junior Gillian McMahon said. “I perform all the time at big festivals and venues all over Portland, but the stakes are low because I don’t know anyone. I knew everyone there, and I just didn’t want to screw up.”
