Andie Jamison

Andie Jamison, Staff reporter

For Andie Jamison, junior, said she’s been picking up a pen for as long as she can remember.

“I’ve [always] enjoyed writing stories of any kind,” Jamison said. “It’s definitely a go-to in my free time.”

She has embraced this love for writing by taking classes in high school that are more focused around the topic, such as Creative Writing, Journalism, and AP English.

But writing isn’t Jamison’s only passion.

When she’s not writing or at school, you can find Jamison at the Lake Oswego Academy of Dance. She’s been dancing for 13 years now, and has climbed the ladder to become a member of the studio’s senior company. She trains in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop.

“Dance is an escape from the stress of normal life for me, and I can’t imagine my life without it,” Jamison said. “I’ve met many of my best friends through dance and learned so much about respect and life overall.”

But while both writing and dance have Jamison’s passions throughout her entire life, she plans on taking a different route for her future.

“I am planning on going to OHSU for dental school and eventually becoming an orthodontist,” Jamison said. “It’s going to be a lot of work, but I’m ready to face the challenge head-on and pursue my dreams.”
