With school, homework and intense soccer practices that follow, Mackenzie Banner, 9, is always on her toes.

“Growing up I played four sports at once,” Banner said. “I’ve been playing soccer for 12 years.” Banner fell in love with the sport from the time that she was young and is interested in possibly pursuing a career with it. “I’ve loved the game for as long as I can remember,”

Journalism is new to her this year, but Banner wanted to give it a go because she thought it would be something different than her other classes.

With a school schedule that always keeps her moving, and soccer everyday, Banner still realizes the importance of living in the moment. “Don’t worry about the future or the past.” she said. “Just focus on right now,”
