Affinity club hosts Diwali at the public library
Uma Grover, senior Affinity Club president, leads her club members to prepare for the event. Diwali, the festival of light triumphing over dark, was honored on Friday, Nov. 4. Celebrated in Southern Asia, it is one of the most celebrated holidays in Hinduism. “[It] originated out of Hinduism and the epic like [how] in Greek mythology, there are all those stories about the gods,” Grover said. “In Hinduism, we have epics like those in Greek mythology. There's a certain epic that's very important called the Ramayana.”
