Craigslist is used to search for all kinds of things, including a drummer for a band. This is what Anthony “Tone” Catalano, Little Hurricane band leader, did in 2010 to find the other half of his duo, Celeste “CC” Spina, drummer and backup vocalist.
Together, these two make up Little Hurricane, a San Diego band that won Best New Artist Award at the 2010 San Diego Music Awards after only six months together. Often compared to the White Stripes, Little Hurricane released their debut album, “Homewrecker” on Mar. 10, 2011. Soon after the album’s release, Little Hurricane began its year-long nationwide tour.
On Friday, Feb. 10, Little Hurricane will play at the Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland. Tickets are only $.94 in advance online at McMenamins.com or at the door — if they aren’t sold out.
At a time when many forms of entertainment are rising in price, this cheap concert is a nice alternative.
The Portland band Josh and Mer will open for Little Hurricane. This is the first time Little Hurricane has played in Portland, and it promises to be a great show.
