WLHS’s CAESAR opens on Friday

The WLHS Theatre’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Julius Ceasar”  will hold a preview performance dress rehearsal on March 5. Performances will be held on March 6, 7, 12, 13  and 14 at 7pm in the Black Box studio.

With a set created by West Linn art students, Ceasar’s graffiti-themed background sets a mood for the play set in 1599. A modern twist on a classic, the set and costumes set a tone for the play. With an all student cast, Ceasar will open this Friday.

In this final week of practice, they are tying together the loose ends. Linda Snyder, sophomore who plays Calpurnia, Ceasar’s wife, is ready for the show to start.

“I’m really excited for the show to start! We have worked really hard on portraying the classic Ceasar in a new fun artistic way,” Snyder said. “Playing a part of someone who foresees Ceasar’s death and desperately wants him to stay home is fun for me.”

Rehearsals started at the end of January so the cast feels ready for the show.

“This cast is amazing. I’ve never had a bad experience mainly because of the loving people within it. The cast makes it so easy to do what you love and love what you’re doing. Get pumped! Come see Ceasar!” Snyder said.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. You can preorder them online at www.wlhs.theatre.org or purchase them at the door.
