Numerous activities offered for West Linn teens over the summer
West Linn Public Library will be hosting numerous events for WL teens to participate in throughout the summer. If you are interested check out the library webpage for more information.
With summer approaching, many teens are looking for ways to stay entertained and busy. West Linn Public Library is offering numerous activities for students entering grades 6-12. Each activity offered is on a Thursday night and all are welcome.
The first activity is “Game Night” on June 25 at 6:30 p.m. The library will have a WiiU, Wii, XBox 360 Kinect, DDR and board games available for teens. On July 2 at 12 p.m the library will have Raina, a henna tattoo artist, available to give teens temporary henna tattoos, while sharing about the culture behind henna. “The Princess Bride” will be shown at 6:30 p.m on July 9. All are encouraged to come.
“I love ‘The Princess Bride,’” Julia Webster, junior, said. “It has been one of my favorite movies throughout middle and high school.”
On July 16 at 2 p.m. Tim Giugni, an improv comedian, will share how to make paper masks. At the library on July 23 they will be holding a scavenger hunt. The winner of the hunt may receive a prize. The library will also be holding a “Swap Your Stuff” meeting on July 30 for students to exchange their gently used books, movies, CDs, games, posters, etc.
To bring the summer activities to an end, there will be a game night finale on August 6 at 6:30 p.m. More gaming as well as snacks will be available for teens that evening.
