The visiting West Linn Lions (1-0,0-0 Three Rivers League) topped the Tualatin Timberwolves (0-1, 0-0 Pacific Conference) in a non-conference game, 60-41.
The Lions rained in six three-pointers in the opening period, three of which came from guard Mitch Cokley, senior, to open up an early lead. The Timberwolves mounted a comeback in the second half behind the scoring of senior guard Nathan Suyematsu, who finished the game with a team-high nine points.
The Timberwolves would pull it as close as 34-31 with 5:33 left in the third quarter, but the Lions finished the game on a 25-7 run and never looked back. Guard Hayden Coppedge, sophomore, led the way for the West Linn with 10 points, but several others chipped in for the Lions as Mitch Cokley, Ryan Shearmire, sophomore, and Devon Hawkins, junior, all finished with nine points each.
The Lions will travel to South Salem today to take on the Saxons.

The students brought a variety of paints and mixed their own custom colors. “Instead of brushstrokes, we’re doing more dabbing, because it gives [a] better impression of tree foliage, rather than looking like actual brush strokes, because if we’re painting trees, we need it to look like trees,” Crawford said.](https://wlhsnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2397-1200x900.jpg)
