The West Linn cross country team finished its 2012 campaign at Clackamas Community College at the Three Rivers League district meet.
The boys cross country team is sending seven runners to the state meet on November 3 at Lane Community College in Eugene. Those runners are: Connor Cushman,senior, John Goetze,junior, Tyler Griffin,senior, Grayson Ollar,freshman, Roman Ollar,freshman, Colin Squires,freshman and Michael Sullivan,junior. The girls team isn’t sending anyone to the meet.
The boys team came within six points of the Lakeridge High School Pacers, but in the end six points proved too many and the team had to settle for second place. Cushman ran a team best with a 16.50 race, and finished third overall. Griffin came in second for the team with a 16.51, and Ollar was the third Lion to cross the finish line with a 16.53.
The girls team finished fourth out six teams,with the Grant High School Generals taking the title. Marija Jozic,sophomore, finished with a team best 20.49, and came in 11th. Rebecca Donnelly, senior, was the second Lion to cross the finish line with 21.01 and Tara Galloway, senior, ran a 21.11 and finished third for Lions.
