The West Linn Girls Basketball Team (11-11, 5-3 Three Rivers League) used stifling defense, only allowing 11 points in the first half of play, en route to blowing out the host Lake Oswego Lakers (5-16, 0-8 TRL) 50-29. This was the Lakers ninth consecutive loss.
Julia Boyd-Helm,senior, led the Lions with 10 points and Ashley Johnson, junior, chipped eight points from her guard position.
The Lakers were led by Ali Binns, senior, with 10 points.
The Lions play the Canby Cougars (10-9, 4-4 TRL), who they battled to an overtime victory in the previous game, on Friday at Canby High School at 7 p.m. \
“We’re expecting them to come out really mad and wanting to win real bad,” Sidney Kolasinski, sophomore, said.
