West Linn Varsity Baseball team blows out Hermiston, 13-0
Returning from its annual Spring Break trip to Arizona, the West Linn Lions Baseball team (5-2) took on the Hermiston Bulldogs (5-3) Tuesday evening and had a commanding 13-0 win.
The scoring barrage started in the top of the first when outfielder Colton Cosner, senior, had a two-run triple scoring Will Matthiessen, junior, and Brayden Pene, junior, to put West Linn up 2-0.
Karsen Lindell, senior, had yet another dominating performance; not allowing a runner past second base the entire night and allowed only two hits.
Catcher Cole Kinman, freshman, had his first varsity hit, a two-RBI double, while Nicholas Yokubaitis, senior, Rudy Hughes, senior, Trevor Wells, junior, and Pene all had RBI hits as well. Tate Hoffman had two RBI’s and West Linn put up six runs in the third and added four more in the fourth inning.
The Lions will hope to continue their dominating offensive play at home Friday at 4:30 p.m. against the Mountain View Cougars (3-2).
