Feminist Club hosts talent show

The Feminist Club raise donations for Swadhar Institute for Development of Women and Children at their annual talent show

  • The feminist talent show kicks off with Clay Barbee singing “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone along with fellow juniors, Jackson Monahan on the drums, Wilfred Lim and Daniel Monahan on the guitar, and Matt Chao on the piano.

  • Mackenzie Bezio, senior, performs “Lemon Boy” by Cavetown on the ukulele. “I was nervous, but super excited to perform for a good cause,” Bezio said. “18 percent of girls in India don’t have access to feminine hygiene products, which makes it really difficult for them to live their lives or get an education. I just hoped that by participating in the fundraiser, I could help fix that problem."

  • Ethan Arterberry, junior, aka Soops, sings original music that can be heard on his most recent album, “Live from the Panic Room."

  • Abby Harpole and Tahnna Shaaban, seniors, sing “Diet Mountain Dew” by Lana Del Rey.

  • Remy Gottschling, junior, sings “The Times They Are A-Changin" by Bob Dylan while playing the guitar. He also performed an original song based on the aforementioned song.

  • Maddie Meyers and Kaydence Miekle, freshmen, do an interpretive dance to a Bardic poem reading.

  • Angela Tinio, junior, sings “Perfect” from the musical “Edges”.

  • Matilda Frysinger, freshman, sings and performs “Happier” by Ed Sheeran on the ukulele.

  • Dashiell Lipsey, junior, sings one of Elton John’s most famous hits “Rocket Man."

  • Student Band, Peripheral Flow perform “Spooky” by Dusty Springfield and “No Buses” by Arctic Monkeys.

  • Gillian McMahon, junior, sings alongside Annistyn Randall, sophomore, on the drums, and Annistyn’s grandfather fills in on the guitar in their band Love Circle. They perform covers such as “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson and original song, “Cast a Spell."

  • To close the show, Kamerin Villagomez and Audrey Lipsey, juniors, perform a duet to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.
