Boys Basketball tops Westview en route to a matchup against Grant
The West Linn Boys’ Varsity Basketball team improved its record to 8-4 on Friday Jan. 10 as they beat Westview (4-3) by a score of 76-61.
The Lions outscored the Wildcats in all but the second quarter. The Lions were down 34-39 at half but made an impressive rally to emerge victorious by 15 points. Payton Pritchard, sophomore, and Anthony Mathis, junior, led the team in scoring, with 30 and 20 points, respectively.
The team prepares now for a tough opponent in the Grant Generals (6-6), which will be a home game held Tuesday Jan. 14.
“We’re really trying to contain their best player, Dylan Leonard,” Ryan Shearmire, senior, said.
“We are all friends with him and look forward to the matchup,” Ty Cleland, senior, added.
