West Linn rolls over Newberg 48-14
Tim Tawa throws six touchdowns as the Lions move to 4-0
The West Linn Lions (4-0, 2-0 Three Rivers League) routed the Newberg Tigers (2-2, 1-1 TRL) 48-14 to remain undefeated. Sophomore Tim Tawa carried the team with six touchdowns and over 300 yards passing. Junior wide receiver Cody Coppedge led with 12 catches, 161 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Lions solidified their lead in the second quarter with three touchdown passes from Tawa, and then closed out the game in the fourth quarter with a 24-yard run from junior Kahlil Monson.
The Lions play away Friday against the Lakeridge Pacers (2-2, 1-1 TRL) at 7 p.m.
