Despite having the bases loaded, the team was unable to score any runs. “It’s just the beginning of the season. We’re just going to be playing out best by June, [and] that’s where champions are,” Rowe said.

Myrtle Guarisco, senior, and Eloise Guarisco, sophomore, play ‘A duet in D Major.’ This performance took place around 30 minutes after their act with the Woodland Quintet 1, similarly to other students who had multiple performances throughout the day. “We just picked a piece that we both liked, and it wasn't too heavy,” Myrtle said. “The parts were pretty equal and there were some pretty harmonies. It was fun to play with my sister.”

Outside of school, she writes stories for the Oregonian, volunteers at the library, and leads clubs like the Asian Pacific Islander club. Wang hopes to continue with journalism after high school.
