Olivia Wang, junior, is the Social Media Coverage Editor and Social Media Committee Chair for wlhsNOW. This will be Wang’s second year on staff. Outside of school, she writes stories for the Oregonian, volunteers at the library, and leads clubs like the Asian Pacific Islander club. Wang hopes to continue with journalism after high school.

Building up the blocks. Henrik Lee, sophomore, helps one of the kids build a tower of the various foam blocks. The annual event, Drive a Robot, was held at the West Linn Public Library and was available to students in grade levels 5-8 to try and drive programmed robots made by high school students. The event was held on Nov. 1 at 12:30 p.m.

Full speed ahead. A robot heads towards the direction of stacked foam blocks set by one of the younger students. The robots were all made and programmed by the robotics team, FRC 7034.

The event proceeds in multiple 15-minute slots reserved ahead of time for the attendees. In between each slot, one of the members of the robotics team spent time reevaluating and setting up the robots for the next upcoming slots.
