Girls Golf Heads to state, and you could join them too

Tya Seth, freshman, Summer Marshall, sophomore, Maggie Peters, junior, Amanda Elich, junior and Chloe Barnes, junior, win the Three Rivers League Title. They will next compete at State May 18-19.

The Girls Varsity Golf team is headed back to the state championships to defend its title.  A rooter bus is being offered on Tuesday, May 19 at no cost Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis.

Those interested in going need to attend a lunch meeting sometime next week to review proper golf etiquette. The rooter bus will leave WLHS at 7 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m. Students will be excused for the entire day. The Lions look to claim their second straight state title led by juniors, Maggie Peters and Amanda Elich. The Lions are optimistic as they head into state.

“We are all really excited at the opportunity to have another chance to win state again, ” Peters said.

The OSAA State Girls Golf Tournament will take place May 18-19 at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis.
