A passion for writing and an interest in photography are what led Christian to join the school news-staff. He says that journalism is pretty mellow- sometimes. But it can also be really exciting. This juxtaposition of thrill and calm are what make Amplifier his favorite class. It turned out to be quite fortuitous that he found this class that he enjoys so much because poor Christian vastly underestimated the amount of schoolwork that he would be given this year, particularly in AP U.S. history.
Born just outside of Hollywood, Christian Robert Marvin, age fifteen, moved to West Linn at the age of two and has been in the same house, and enrolled in the West Linn school system ever since. He lives with his family of four. His father is a money manager, while his mother is a stay at home mom. The fourth member is his nine year old sister, Elise. About his sister he says, “We sometimes get along… We fight a lot, but we get along afterwards.”
He has only been out of the country once, to Jamaica, when invited by a college buddy of his father’s. But if he could go anywhere in the world, he would go to Italy. Where in Italy, he doesn’t know, but he has family that has been there and each time they say it was a wonderful experience. Plus, there’s the food, and really, do you need a better reason to go to Italy than pasta and pizza?
In Christian’s spare time he likes playing and watching basketball, watching football, playing his Steinway grand piano, and eating chicken alfredo. I don’t think he meant at the same time . . . but who knows?
